Students should decide best candidate for VCSA

The Student Government Association and Kerry Roman will be sponsoring a series of Student Success Forums for the candidates of Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is one of the most important positions on campus as it relates to students. This person is over Student Organizations, Lead Academy, Greek Life, Housing, Campus Recreation, Student Orientation and Registration, SOAR, Health Services, Food Services, Admission, Student Discipline and a host of other things pertaining to students.

The forums that will be conducted will provide the student body with a great opportunity. You will be given the chance to evaluate individuals that will be potentially leading the division of Student Affairs.

As representatives for the Student Body on the search committee, we are looking for someone that relates to students. We would like to see someone that will be an advocate for students during and after their educational experience at UTM. We want to know exactly how you feel about each candidate.

We are committed to aiding the University in finding someone that will be best for the Student Body. Please let us know how you feel about each candidate. Below I have listed information regarding when the forums will occur:

Thursday, April 6 Dr. Melinda K. Dalgarn

Wednesday, April 19 Dr. Deborrah A. Hebert

Thursday, April 20 Dr. Gary Gaston

Monday, April 24 Dr. Leroy A. Durant

Thursday, April 27 David J. Belote

All of these will occur in 206ABC UC. Information about each candidate will be available on the SGA Web site on March 22.
