New section offers tech help for UTM

As I am sure most of our readers are aware, the world of technology that surrounds us can be both scary and exciting. We at The Pacer want to help make a little more sense of this crazy, fast-paced world by expanding our sections to include technology, which we are calling “The Technophile.”

So what exactly is a technophile? Technophilia comes from “technology” (obviously) and “phile” which is from the Greek Philia which means brotherly love, but has been taken to mean “someone obsessed with something.”

Please note that despite the similarity in wording, technophiles are not and have nothing to do with pedophiles or another -phile word that inappropriately uses technology (e.g. the Internet, child pornography, etc).

With that in mind, we hope to provide exciting and informative content that helps the campus of UTM stay up-to-date on the latest in technology. Be it cell phones or anti-virus software, our Top 5 sites of the week, or reviews from laptops to digital cameras, we are all about connecting UTM to a connected world.

Also, if you’re interested in writing about technology (including video game reviews and/or news), send us an e-mail at pacer_tech@utm.edu.
