Tri-Beta and Yoplait team up to help lick breast cancer

The American Cancer Society esticmates that over 30 percent of new cancer cases in American women this year will involve breast cancer.

Statistically, breast cancer may strike one in every eight women. Men can also develop the disease, although the frequency is 100 times greater in women.

Since this disease affects so many people in so many ways, Tri-Beta encourages everyone to be aware of the risks for breast cancer.

To learn more about the disease, consult a physician or visit www.cancer.org.

To get involved in the fight against breast cancer, Tri-Beta is teaming up with Yoplait by coordinating a local collection drive for Pink Lids.

For every pink lid sent in by December 31, Yoplait will donate $ .10 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for research and educational outreach activities.

Through November 18, Tri-Beta asks the UTM community to save CLEAN pink lids from Yoplait yogurt products.

Students, faculty and staff may bring their lids to the Department of Biological Sciences Office, Room 249, Brehm Hall or contact Tri-Beta adviser Darrell Ray at dlray@utm.edu to arrange to have your lids picked up.

Remember “a good deed never tasted so good.”
