UTM employee’s ‘giving’ spirit gets her a mower

Annette Moore, standing with her husband, Greg, and just behind Captain Skyhawk, was the winner of this year’s Weakley County United Way lawnmower giveaway.

Moore is a budget analyst in the Finance and Administration office. The mower was donated by MTD, one of several local companies that greatly support United Way. Moore’s name was drawn from a pool of all county residents who donate at least one hour’s pay per month to the local United Way. All funds donated locally are invested in agencies that serve Weakley County.

Others pictured with Moore include Rene Bard of UTM’s Infant Stimulation Program; Cindy Young of the American Red Cross; Betty Baker of We Care Ministries; Brian Harris of Martin Housing Authority (White House/mentoring program); Hope Cooper of West Tennessee United Way; Steve Vantrease, chair of the Weakley County United Way board of directors; and Communications student Nicole Bennington, who handled media breaks that focused on local agencies and businesses during United Way Night, Jan. 17 at the UTM home basketball games.
