UTM IFC wins awards at regional conference


Members of the UTM Interfraternity Council attended the Southeastern Interfraternal Conference in Atlanta from February 17-20.

Fourteen members representing the Interfraternity Council attended the conference: Jonathan McAnalty, Jim Bell Hatchell, and Josh Brewer of Pi Kappa Alpha; Drew Cunningham, David Taylor, and Taylor Moody of Alpha Tau Omega; Luke Smithson, Ross Moore, and Nathaniel Thompson of Alpha Gamma Rho; Joseph Adcock and Ben Hogan of Sigma Alpha Epsilon; Andrew Heffner of Sigma Chi; Robert Kelley of Kappa Alpha Order; and Brad Hadley of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Louis Ragsdale, coordinator of greek life, was also in attendance.

UTM’s IFC received second in five categories in the small-school division including Outstanding Website, Alumni Relations, Outstanding Publication, Publications and Community Service and Philanthropy. UTM also received a Fraternal Excellence plaque, recognizing the IFC that achieved 100 percent in all categories: IFC management, judicial processes, leadership development, legal concerns, philanthropy and community service, public relations, scholarship and academic achievement, recruitment and social programming. UTM’s IFC was also one of the eight universities in the southeast to receive the “Overall Fraternal Excellence Award."
